The Plant Physiology Laboratory under the directorate of Crops Sciences Institute, NARC is working on identifying climate resilient crops germplasm with drought, heat and salt tolerance potential since its establishment in 1984. The laboratory is furnished with advance equipment’s, greenhouse/glasshouse and field research facilities to carryout research on biochemical and physiological aspects of crop science.

Research focus of plant physiology program is to explore physiological basis of economically important field crops like Wheat, Rice, Maize, Canola, Sunflower, Soybean, Chickpea, Mungbean, Mash and lentil for climate resilience & adaptability.
