- To develop high yielding, bio-fortified, disease/pest resistant and climate resilient fodder and forage varieties/hybrids.
- To evaluate, maintain germplasm and participate in National Uniform Fodder Yield Trials (NUFYT).
- To develop and standardize system specific technologies for productivity enhancement of fodder and forages.
- To develop and maintain inbred lines for seed production of hybrids through public & private partnership.
- Conduct research on issues of national importance, documentation and dissemination of results.
- Capacity building by improving research skills of students and young researchers.
