The programme has one well-established laboratory located in the F-Block of central laboratory complex where basic and applied research is conducted on vertebrate pest management techniques to manage their infestations in agricultural eco-systems. In this respect following facilities are available in the programme:
- To conduct studies on food preferences of rodent pests.
- Quantification of rodent filth in grain commodities.
- Development of different rodenticide baits formulation and their laboratory evaluation.
- Development and evaluation of bait delivery methods for vertebrate pests.
- Damage assessment methodologies applicable in grain storages, field crops and forest plantations.
- Population and activity assessment techniques of field rats.
- Training package on control of field rats, porcupine, and wild boar
- Customized services on contractual basis are available for rat, porcupine and wild boar control.
- Sale of ready-to-use baits for control of rats and mice in urban environments and agricultural crops.
- Provide advisory vertebrate pest control services to various stake-holders for management of vertebrate pests in public and private sectors.
