• DNA finger printing by using PCR based DNA markers.
• Drought stress assessment on the basis of chemical and drought proxy parameters.
• Rice program has following lab instruments; GDS system, gel electrophoreses, refrigerated centrifuge, Qubit Fluorimeter, pH meter, UV trans-illuminator, autoclave, water bath, incubator, vortex mixer, analytical balance, micro-pipette set, laminar flow cabin, moisture meter, microwave oven, microscope, -25 refrigerator and water distillation unit

• Field area for conducting trials related to rice and rice-based systems.
• NUYT and adaptability trials on hybrids 
• Weeds management in rice by field practices and weedicide applications.
• PARC-Rice Research Station KSK has following instruments/implements; Rice Vacuum Emasculator, rice grain counter, leaf area meter and SPAD meter.
