Insect Pest Management Program - IPMP

Research on insect pest management was started with the establishment of Entomological Research Labs at NARC in 1990. Four Labs started working on Insect toxicology, Insect Systematics, Insect Ecology, and Insect rearing. Due to the increasing demand for applied research and for demonstrating research findings in the field, the role of Entomological Research Labs (ERL) was revised and the ERL and the ERL nomenclature was revised as Integrated Pest Management Institute (IPMI) in 1999. The IPMI continued working until 2007. Restructuring of NARC was implemented in 2007 and a new institute as Institute of Plant and Environmental Protection (IPEP) was established and the IPMI was converted to an Insect Pest Management Program under the IPEP.
