  • Breeding and selection studies on different crops (cereal, pulses, fodder, arid horticultural / low delta / high value crops) to achieve the yield potential of these crops
  • To develop sustainable cropping pattern for GomalZam command area at D.I. Khan
  • To introduce arid horticultural high value crops / orchards management
  • Water resources development, conservation and efficient utilization using innovative conservation and irrigation techniques
  • To conduct research on efficient watershed management for soil and water conservation
  • To develop technologies / techniques for efficient utilization of rain-torrent Rod-Kohi flood water for agricultural purpose
  • To develop range/agro-forestry models for development of animal husbandry & wild life
  • Establishment of nurseries of multipurpose trees, shrubs and grasses for rehabilitation & restoration of degraded range areas & developing various Agro-forestry interventions
  • Introduction of water harvesting and moisture conservation techniques for dry afforestation of degraded areas
  • Documentation of existing and introduction of various new Agro-forestry interventions
  • To conduct socioeconomic surveys/rapid rural appraisals.
  • Documentation and dissemination of research outcomes to end users through field days, workshops and brochures.
  • Capacity building (training of local farmers, extension works & Scientists)
