Letters of Agreement (LOA) Signing Ceremonies Strengthens Public Private Collaboration for Agricultural Development.
The signing ceremonies of Letters of Agreement (LoA) formalizing a multi party collaboration between Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, SG Allied Business Ltd., Pakistan Pest Management Association, Thar Foundation and Pak Mission Society held at PARC-SARC, Karachi and AZRC, Umer Kot on 21 and 23 November 2025 to support joint work on research, capacity building and industry linked technology transfer. Dr. Syed M. H. Andrabi, Chairman PARC, graced and presided over the ceremonies. Director Establishment, PARC, Directors of PARC-SARC institutes and AZRC also attended the events. Dr. Attaullah Khan, DG, PARC-SARC appreciated the efforts of the scientists and expressed hope that more researchers would come forward and actively engage in the public private partnership process. The Chairman welcomed the partnerships and outlined PARC’s key priorities in mushroom value addition, emphasizing its strong potential for income generation through low-cost cultivation and diversified products. He noted the importance of integrated pest management, where collaboration with industry can minimize crop losses and promote safer application practices. He also highlighted livestock development in Tharparkar, where joint initiatives with the Thar Foundation can help improve breeds, strengthen feeding systems and expand animal health services. PARC and Pakistan Mission Society would work together to support community-level agriculture and food security initiatives with focus on farmer training, promoting kitchen gardening, strengthening value addition, and carrying out joint field activities. He further added that these collaborations would better align research with industry needs and contribute to improve livelihoods across the Sindh region. The representatives of four organizations were of view that LoA set the foundation for coordinated activities in targeted areas with the goal of improving livelihoods, supporting innovation and ensuring that research outcomes reach farmers and industry users.
