Chairman PARC Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali Chaired the Technical Session of Premier National Dates Exhibition & Festival held at Pakistan Maritime Museum Karachi. Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Ali, Chairman PARC, highlighted the significant potential of Pakistani dates in both domestic and international markets during a Premier National Dates Exhibition & Festival 2024 organized by Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Sindh at Pakistan Maritime Museum, Karachi. Despite being the world’s fifth-largest producer of dates, Pakistan's international market presence remains weak. Dr. Ali emphasized the need for improved processing, branding, and quality certification to enhance consumer trust. He pointed out challenges in production, processing, and marketing, and praised PARC's efforts to introduce date palms in desert areas and to address these issues. He advocated for modernizing processing facilities, reducing post-harvest losses, and promoting best practices among small to medium-scale processors. Dr. Ali also expressed a desire for collaboration with DPRI, Khairpur on advancing date palm technology and called for continued innovation and cooperation among all stakeholders.
