Functions of Directorate of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Determine National Research Priorities and develop research projects in line with these priorities;
- Propose allocation of resources to these priorities;
- Prepare and update National Agricultural Research Plan and link with 5 years Development Plan of GOP prepared by Planning Commission; and
- Prepare and maintain various data series required for priority setting, plan preparation and resource allocation.
- Establish appropriate procedures required to monitor, review and evaluate projects/programs/institutes;
- Monitor and evaluate research progress of on-going projects/programs;
- Arrange third party evaluation/assessment of research programs/projects and provide feed back for improvement; and
- Conduct the impact assessment of agricultural research projects and programs and undertake performance assessment of agricultural research institutions.
