Dr. Munir Ahmad is an Agricultural Economist by profession having research interests in efficiency and productivity analysis, qualitative response modeling, rural appraisal, poverty and agricultural policy. He earned MSc.(Hon) in 1983 from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan and Ph.D in 1994 from the University of Connectiuct, USA and Postdoctoral research at University of New England, Australia in 1996. Dr. Munir Ahmad started his career with Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) and was Chief of Research with PIDE before joining the PARC. He also has teaching experience to his credit by nurturing the young professionals at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat Oman. He has authored more than 45 scientific publications, book reviews, articles and research papers in journals of international repute. Besides his scholarly endeavors, he supervised master and doctoral level thesis research. Dr. Munir Ahmad undertook a number of international donor funded research projects and empirical studies during his course of excellence and gained professional working experience with World Bank, IFPRI, SANEI, UNICEF and FAO. He is currently member of more than 18 different national level committees and associations. |
