Farmers will learn modern agriculture techniques: Chairman PARC
ISLAMABAD: A meeting on agriculture was held in the office of Agricultural Research Center for Dry Areas, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, Ratha Kalachi, Dera Ismail Khan. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security Mr. Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mohibullah Khan, Provincial Secretary Agriculture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Israr Khan, Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, Islamabad Dr. Muhammad Azeem, Member Natural Resources PARC Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad attended the meeting. The host of the program, Dr. Noman Latif Saduzai, Director General, Aird Zun Research Center, gave a briefing about ongoing agricultural research work and the four new institutes under its management, namely Lakki Marwat, Tank and Wana and Miranshah.
All the distinguished guests accompanied by Provincial Minister Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur and Commissioner Mr. Amir Latif visited Dera Ismail Khan Adaptive Research Demonstration Institute, Tank in which Special Assistant to the Prime Minister was briefed about And the aims / objectives of the project were explained on the spot. The SAPM gave his valuable suggestions on the spot and issued instructions on fruits and crops.
The caravan from Tank also visited Kot Murtaza Head-works organized by Gomal Zam Dam where Mr. Muhammad Zubair, Project Director Gomal Zam Dam briefed about the project. The Federal Adviser received the information with great interest and also gave suggestions on the spot.
On the occasion of inauguration of Adaptive Research Demonstration Institute organized by DI Khan at AZRC, Wana, South Waziristan, tribal men , Additional Deputy Commissioner and District Police Officer Mr. Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and The guests were also welcomed, after which the Special Assistant, Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Chairman, PARC also planted commemorative pine, cedar and chickpea trees and inaugurated the Adaptive Research Demonstration Institute.
On the occasion, he called for steps to be taken for the cultivation and processing of Chilgoza and paid tribute to Dr. Noman Latif Saduzai, Project Director, Aired Zone Research Center, for his work in these areas and in the region. The journey of agriculture started from war culture. By the establishment of this institute, the farmers of the area will be introduced to modern agriculture, training will also be provided to the youth and employment opportunities will be created.
