Soybean crop has an important value among Pakistan’s agriculture sector

Concluding session of 2 days training workshop on Soybean By-products held at NARC

Islamabad (April 23, 2019)……Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has made efforts to popularize this crop and its by-products nationwide with the help of PSDP funded soybean project entitled “Commercialization of Soybean crop (Glycine max L) on Pilot scale in Pakistan”. It has been said by DG NARC Dr. Ghulam M. Ali at the occasion of concluding session of two days training workshop on Soybean by-products held at NARC. He also welcomed participants of training and briefed about steps taken by PARC’s for betterment of Soybean crop and its by-products.

At this occasion Program Incharge, Soybean Project briefed the participants about training session. He said that commercialization of Soybean by-products by Oilseed Research Program are commendable. With the help of NRSP and FSRI, NARC has made efforts to popularize different soya by-products (soymilk, soya halwa, soya kabab, soya ice-cream, soya samosa, soya custard, soya pakora and soya chat).

At this occasion DG, Planning & Development, Director API, Director ASI and other scientists of PARC / NARC were present. This unique effort of team soybean project (Oilseeds Research Program, NARC) was highly appreciated by higher-ups and audience and they were excited to hear more about soya by-products on commercial scale in future.
