Twenty two participants of MCMC from different Dep’t. under 27th Mid Career Management Course arranged by National Institute of Management Academy Town, Peshawar visited National Tea & High Value Crops Research Institute, Shinkiari, (PARC), on 09.4.1019.
Dr. F.S. Hamid Director, NTHRI well come the group at the Institute. Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner Mansehra, were also accompanied the group. The group was led by Mr. Jehanzeb Khan Director Staff (NIM) Peshawar. In the welcome session Director, NTHRI Dr.F.S.Hamid briefed the guests regarding the long history of tea cultivation to present status and potential of this valuable crop. Later on guest were briefed through presentation on research and developmental work with new activities of high value crops i.e., Tea, Kiwi , Olive , Litchi , Fruits, Vegetables, and Medicinal plants cultivation & its preservation particular in district Mansehra and KPK through NTHRI developmental projects. They also briefed that up to district Haripur and Swat the NTHRI play a vital model role for promotion of new innovative agric technology at end users “farmers” with practical demonstration.
The gusts visited tea nursery, plantation, progeny garden, black & green tea processing plants, Kiwi Fruits orchard, Fruit orchards (germplasm), Olive nursery, Vegetables Section , Medicinal Block Area and NTHRI display center. They took very keen interest in all parts of activity and highly impressed the achievements of NTHRI (PARC). Finally they paid a vote of thanks to NTHRI (PARC) and presented a memorable shield to the Institute.
